Totterdown Art Trail 2009 :)

23 Nov

Oh my outrageously busy weekend…

It was the Totterdown Art Trail this weekend and as ever, it was blummin’ ace!

It was a real mission to get everything sorted this year with the little one here too, but having worked my socks off for the last couple of weeks, it all came together and I was really pleased with how my exhibition looked in the end. Jet proved to be entirely useless at helping me to get everything ready, but I think she did a good job of wooing all the punters during opening hours! 🙂

Here’s some lovely pics courtesy of the old ball and chain:

Front Room: The Totterdown Art Trail 2008

17 Nov

I have been looking forward to writing this post for WEEKS!

It was the Totterdown Art Trail this weekend (that is the local arts trail for my area in Bristol) and this year we decided to open up our house for exhibiting. It turned out to be a great success! We had loads of visitors throughout the whole weekend and I got a great response to all my work, so I was really pleased 🙂

I had been working really hard for months to get it all ready on time and it was so rewarding to see everything come together in the end. It has made me feel very fortunate to live in such a great community with so many creative, friendly and fun-loving people – hurrah for Totterdown!!

Here’s some pictures:

I made these boxes of hand cut paper butterflies from vintage hand-marbled papers that I bought from an old book binders in bristol. The paper with the writing is from some old legal letters I bought from ebay dating back to the 1880’s.

My mum had a little shop bit at the end selling stuff that she had made – the peg bags proved to be particularly popular!!
