A book for Emilia…

21 Jul

In the interests of fairness between siblings, I have been making my niece, Emilia a felt book for her first birthday.

This one was quite tough to make – it would appear to be surprisingly difficult to think of things that begin with certain letters that are appropriate for this kind of thing and that make the right sound phonetically – especially as Emilia’s sister Alice already has her own book, so I couldn’t double up on any of the ideas!

This book has an animal theme, which I quite like as it’s less random than it’s predecessors:

Have a look at the rest of the pages after the jump…

I put plastic from old carrier bags in the covers so they sound all crinkly when you move them.

We are still very much short of new baby names over here – but sewing up this book has given me a lot of time to ponder over the fact that it might be easier in the long run to think of a name with only a few letters… 🙂

This is gorgeous, I am 19 but still jealous of that child! What a beautiful gift, with so much love sewn into it. Very well done x

now, I have tried and tried to find an alphabet frieze for Dm and Foree but have had no success -which made me wonder whether this wasn’t a good idea for you to pursue seeing as youve done most of the letters already and photographed them too it would seem… they would be lovely reproduced non? cos Im sure youre not doing much at the mo…;-)
