Ooooooooooh, I love a giant sized chocolate bar, me!
It was my good friend Laila’s birthday this weekend – and as we all know, the lady LOVES Curly Wurlies…
Tim Ward and I made her a giant one to keep her sweet:
read on for the details…
The ingredients:
First, we put all the toffees in a bowl and melted them down in the microwave:
Then when all the toffee was nice and soft, we moulded it into a curly wurly shape:
Then we put some chocolate in a bowl and melted all that down:
Then we spread it all over one side of the toffee which we put on a cooling rack so all the excess chocolate would drip down:
We used a special tool (which might have just been a kebab stick) to poke all the chocolate through:
Then the whole thing went in the fridge too cool down:
When it had all set, we covered the other side in chocolate and let that cool down too – until…
…le voila! – the burly curly wurly was complete – hurrah!!:
wow i think you are the best friends ever!!
Awesome, am making one of these on the weekend for a house warming gift, good to know they look great supersized, and i bet it was yummy too π
Fantastic, I love Curly Wurlys! I wonder whether a quick once over with a hair drier would give it that glazed look?
My fellow on Orkut shared this link with me and I’m not dissapointed that I came to your blog.
thanks! π
My friend loves curly wurlies too! I might make this for her π
Looks great! How did you make the wrapper?
thanks! it’s just made out of printed paper.
