Portfolio
Most of the stuff I post up on my blog is work that I have done in my own time when I’m either sat on the train, or sat under a blanket in front of the telly.
I thought it would be good to create this section for showing some bits of work I have done in a more professional capacity. I worked for six years as a designer and illustrator for a company that produces stationery and gift ware to major UK retailers, but recently left my position to start working on a freelance basis. This has been a really great experience for me and has really helped me to broaden my skills as a designer as well as teaching me a bit more about business and the way the world works (in a very much crash-course style!).
Much of the work I do is for licensed product like stationery, children’s toys and books, but I have also developed several product ranges using my own artwork and characters.
My previous place of work had a lot of involvement with intellectual properties, and whilst I was there I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to develop my character Bad Alice, who has seen international success over the last 5 years. I no longer have any rights to Bad Alice as the designer, as I lost these when I left the company, but it’s still interesting to see how she’s getting on now I’ve left!
If you are interested in learning a bit more about my background, my CV is available to download here.
